I can see we are at the tipping point where green infrastructure (GI) is a necessity and soon become the norm in built-up areas.
I would like to see this taken one step further. Local communities could harvest plants in the urban green spaces and along the GI for food and commodities. We would see multiple benefits, such as access to natural green spaces and access fresh food and plants. Society would see multiple benefits from having this GI, and therefore, the demand for green spaces would increase. The more benefits we can see from nature, the more we demand environmental enhancements.
